Hydroxystannate (ZHS)
Description:
Zinc Hydroxystannate (ZHS) is a white powder, non toxic flame
retardant with low heat release rates, dual phase action,
combining flame retardancy and smoke suppression, has synergy
with inorganic fillers and unlimited pigment compatibility.
Main
Applications: ZHS was developed
initially for use on halogen containing polymer formulation,
especially flexible PVC for wires and cables. The results
obtained were so impressive that its application in halogen-free
formulation has also been developed. The excellent
flame-retardant and smoke-suppression properties of ZHS have
been demonstrated for the following materials: PVC (rigid and
flexible), polyester resins, alkyd resin-based paints,
polychloroprene (Neoprene), chlorosulphonated polyethylene (Hypalon),
polyamides (Nylon 6 and Nylon 66), epoxy resins and
ethylene-vinyl acetate co-polymer.
